Last February I started a knitting project that I expected to be able to finish in a reasonably short amount of time. Life, as it does, had other plans and my project kept being transported around and being dutifully ignored. I was too busy changing jobs and getting up to speed in the new one to be able to worry about it.

This cowl was nice for several reasons, amongst them is the fact that it is the closing project of one of Craftsy courses that I am quite fond of Knit Lab: In the Round with Stefanie Japel, but also that it was a fairly different cowl from the ones I am normally used to. With this course I learned and relearned a few times over the course of a year the skill of knitting in the round.

I think the most difficult part of this project was the fact that every time I picked it up I had forgotten about where I was, what the finished project would look like and I had always the feeling I was doing something wrong. I was not used to read knitting charts and I kept getting lost on it. It was also my first pattern with cables. It wasn't until I remember the advice of another of my teachers that I relaxed and kept going:

There is no knitting or crochet police, don't worry about little mistakes and keep going, it will look gorgeous regardless

I used Knit Pro Karbonz interchangeable 6.00mm (US 10) circular needles with a 38cm cable.
